Prospect Works is a comparison library about consumer security software, written for readers in Australia. This page states who publishes it, how it is funded, how coverage is decided and what it will not do — in enough detail to be checked rather than merely asserted.

The publisher

This site is published by BuildWise s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic.

The same details appear in the footer of every page, on the contact page and in the privacy policy. There is no separate trading entity behind this site and no undisclosed publisher.

Who writes the pages

Pages are written and reviewed by the BuildWise s.r.o. editorial team. This site publishes no author personas, no staff biographies and no photographs of people, because inventing them is common in this category and a fabricated expert is worse than an unnamed one. Where a page makes a factual claim, the authority for it is the linked source, not the person who typed the sentence.

How the site is funded, stated plainly

Links from this site to the TotalAV website are affiliate links. If a reader follows one and later subscribes, the vendor's affiliate program pays a commission to BuildWise s.r.o.. The reader pays the vendor's ordinary price; the commission comes out of the vendor's marketing budget. That commission is the site's only source of revenue. There is no advertising, no sponsorship, no paid placement and no paid link insertion.

The affiliate disclosure page sets out the arrangement in full, and a disclosure line sits immediately beside every paid link on the site rather than in a footer that nobody reads.

Editorial method, including its limits

The honest description of this site's scope is narrow, and stating it narrowly is more useful than claiming an independence that would not survive inspection:

• Coverage of paid products is limited to vendors with a commercial relationship with the publisher. At present that is one vendor. This site does not survey the market and does not rank products against each other, because a ranking of the only product covered would be meaningless.
• What is compared is approaches, not brands. Built-in operating system protection, free products as a class, paid suites as a class, and the non-software measures underneath them can be compared honestly without covering every vendor.
• The cheapest correct answer is presented first. Where built-in protection is sufficient for a household, the page says so, and the commercial arrangement does not change that.
• No testing is performed here. There is no laboratory, no malware sample set and no benchmark rig, so this site publishes no detection figures of its own and does not reproduce other organisations' figures out of context.
• No prices are published. Pricing changes and differs between first term and renewal; a stale figure on a third-party page is a misleading claim regardless of intent.
• Factual claims carry a link to their source. Where no source can be named, the statement is written as general guidance or removed.

What this site is not

It is not operated by, affiliated with or authorised by any security software vendor. It is not a news publication and carries no reporting. It does not sell software, process payments or provide technical support, and it cannot cancel anyone's subscription — that must be done with the vendor. It is not a substitute for the guidance published by the Australian Cyber Security Centre, which is free, authoritative and worth reading first.

What the site collects from readers

Nothing. There is no form, no newsletter sign-up, no comment box and no account. The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, loads no third-party scripts and makes no external requests to render a page. The privacy policy and cookie policy describe that position precisely and list nothing that does not happen.
