Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on this site are paid. This page explains which ones, who pays, what the payment does and does not influence, and what decides the coverage instead. It is written to be read in full rather than skimmed, because a disclosure nobody reads is not a disclosure.
The arrangement, stated directly
Prospect Works, published by BuildWise s.r.o., participates in the affiliate program of the vendor of TotalAV. When a reader follows one of the links on this site to the TotalAV website and subsequently takes out a subscription, the vendor's affiliate program pays BuildWise s.r.o. a commission.
The link destination is https://securedeal.pro/a/L93myhYzxyTgG78, an address operated by the vendor's affiliate program. Links to it are marked in the page code as sponsored links and open in a new tab. No link on this site is disguised, redirected through this domain, or assembled by a script at the moment of clicking: the address shown by a browser when hovering over the link is the address the reader will reach.
What this costs the reader
Nothing. The commission is paid by the vendor out of its own marketing budget. A reader who follows a link from this site pays exactly what they would pay by typing the vendor's address into a browser directly. There is no surcharge, and this site has no access to a special price, a discount or an exclusive offer — and does not claim one.
What the commission does influence
Being honest about this is more useful than a blanket denial. The arrangement determines which paid product is covered here at all. TotalAV is the one commercial product in this library because a commercial relationship exists with its vendor; a library funded by a different vendor would describe a different product. This site therefore does not present itself as a survey of the antivirus market, and it publishes no ranking of products, because a ranking that included only the product it is paid to describe would be misleading.
What the commission does not influence
- The substance of any page. No page has been written or revised to be more favourable to the vendor, and no caveat has been removed to improve conversion.
- The order in which options are presented. Pages lead with the option that costs nothing, because for many households it is the correct answer. The pages recommending against a purchase for particular households were written with this arrangement fully in place.
- What is claimed about the product. Statements about TotalAV on this site are limited to what the vendor publishes about what the product is and which platforms it runs on. No effectiveness claim, no test score and no price is repeated from marketing material.
- The willingness to publish inconvenient information. The pages on subscription renewals, on what built-in protection already covers, and on the limits of what security software does are all directly relevant to whether a reader buys anything.
What decides the coverage instead
Coverage is decided by the questions readers actually face, ordered by how often each one changes a household's decision. The method page sets out the evidence rules in detail: Australian government and regulator publications first, platform vendors' own technical documentation for statements about their own products, independent testing laboratories for test evidence, and the vendor's own material only for what a product is and where it runs. Factual claims carry a link to their source. Nothing on this site is tested here, and no figures are invented.

Everything else on this site
Links to Australian government services, platform vendors' documentation and independent testing organisations are ordinary, unpaid links. Nobody pays for a mention here, no page is sponsored, no advertising is sold, no paid links are inserted into existing pages, and no vendor sees or approves a page before it is published. Affiliate commission is the site's only revenue.

TotalAV and all other product names, logos and brands mentioned on this site are the property of their respective owners. Prospect Works is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. The product name is used only to identify the product being described.
